Moisture Cameras
Deck Doctor uses thermal imaging cameras to detect water intrusion that may be causing Dry rot where you can't see it. Catching water intrusion early can save you lots of money in big repairs to your wood framing members. These cameras help eliminate any unnecessary destructive testing in order to inspect your property.
Scope Cameras
If an element is deemed to be possibly compromised a scope camera is used to take pictures of your framing by drilling small holes in the underside of the element in order to inspect where the repair may be needed. Pictures will be documented in your report.
Code requirements
Your inspector will insure your structure meets state and local building codes in order to not be held liable for and safety concerns. Your report will include details if you need to make modifications or that it meets standards.
Dry Rot
Dry rot is fungal decay that results in deterioration of wood in the absence of proper ventilation and waterproofing. This fungus needs to be removed and or treated in order to keep the structural integrity of your building. SB 721 was singed into law because of a fatal deck failure caused by unseen dry rot. Dry rot will continue to grow under the right conditions and can quickly compromise the structural integrity of your balconies.
